Sermon - Up from Here!!

Dec 28, 2025    Min. John Teasdel

Summary: The sermon explored the theme of insufficiency—those gaps and inadequacies we face in life—and how our response to these moments determines whether we experience God's miraculous provision. Through the example of Mary's response to the angel Gabriel and Jesus feeding the multitudes with limited resources, we learned that God specializes in doing the impossible when we surrender our insufficiency to Him. The message challenged us to stop trying to figure everything out in our own strength and instead sit down, be still, and watch God work. Just as Mary said, "Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word," we too must trust God's word over our circumstances.

Chapter 1: Mary's Response to God's Impossible Assignment

0:00 - 7:00

We examine Mary's response when God gave her an impossible task, learning how she accepted her insufficiency and trusted God's word despite the gap between her ability and God's promise.

Chapter 2: The Empty Bookbag Illustration: Faith in the Waiting

7:00 - 14:00

Through a powerful illustration of a student with an empty bookbag, we see how God provides for us as we move forward in faith, not giving us everything at once but supplying our needs along the journey.

Chapter 3: Jesus Feeds the Multitude: The Pattern of Provision

14:00 - 21:00

We study how Jesus handled insufficiency when feeding thousands with only seven loaves and a few fish, learning the pattern of sitting down, giving thanks, and watching God multiply what we surrender to Him.

Chapter 4: There Shall Be a Performance

21:00 - 28:00

We receive the prophetic declaration that there shall be a performance of what God has spoken, learning that the difference between being buried and planted is our praise during the waiting period.
