Bishop Rickie Jackson was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 19, 1962. He is the second of eight children born to Phillip and Pearl Jackson. Later, the late Bishop Grady Cooks became pastor. Around the age of 10, the Jackson family moved to Columbia, SC, where they joined the Emmanuel Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Malon Pollock.

Bishop Jackson is a 1980 honor graduate of Eau Claire High School. On July 11, 1981, he was united in holy matrimony to Bishop Pollock’s daughter Teresa. To this union the Lord has blessed them with three beautiful children, two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law. Bishop and Lady Jackson are also the proud grandparents of six grandchildren.

First Lady Teresa Jackson was born on September 13, 1962. She is the youngest daughter of the late Bishop Malon Pollock and Mother Alice Pollock. Lady Jackson was baptized in the month of March and received the Holy Ghost on a Friday night during a 1979 revival. She presently serves as President of the Women’s Ministry. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 61:2 “Lead me to a rock that is higher than I, “and her motto is: ‘It’s not about me, it’s all about Jesus!”

Throughout the years Bishop Jackson worked faithfully and diligently as a brother, junior deacon, deacon, minister, Assistant Pastor, and presently serves as Pastor, and Presider of the Emmanuel Churches. Bishop Jackson’s favorite scripture is “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand.” (Psalms 37:23-24)

fOUNDER

Bishop Malon Pollock was born in Richland County on December 22, 1933. He was the eighth of ten children born to the late Henry and Mary Pollock. He attended the Elementary Schools of Richland County during his adolescent years. Though he did not receive his High School Diploma in his youth, it was one of his dreams. God blessed Bishop Pollock to return to school and in May of 1984, this dream was realized.
On April 10, 1952 Bishop Pollock was united in holy matrimony to Alice E. Smith. To this union was born eight children, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and counting.

After marrying Alice Pollock, Bishop enlisted in the United States Army. Bishop Pollock was Honorably Discharged in 1955 after serving two years in the Army and went on to trade school at Booker T. Washington, earning a certificate in Brick Masonry and Carpentry.

Bishop Pollock was baptized in 1950 at the Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and received the Holy Ghost the following year. He worked diligently at the Progressive Church holding many positions and helping to start other works, both physically (in the construction), and spiritually (in leadership, and whatever else his hands found to do.)
In the year 1963, Bishop Pollock, being led of God, started an independent work known as The Emmanuel Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. Under his leadership works were started in Columbia, Eastover, West Columbia, Swansea, and Smoaks, South Carolina.

On Friday morning, October 27, 2000, our founder departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest. His hands can no longer clap, his voice is silent now, but the many sermons preached will live on forever within us, and thanks be to God the HAMMER is still ringing!!!
