Our Founder and Pastor, the late Bishop Malon Pollock in the year 1963, founded the Emmanuel Church. Only because of doctrinal differences at his former place of worship as Pastor was Bishop Pollock led to begin this work. He left with only his family, and the first service held in his living room. When some of the members realized Bishop Pollock would not be returning to his former church, they came to his home and desired of him to continue pasturing them; this was the beginning of the Emmanuel Church. We moved from the living room to the church under the hill about a quarter of a mile from here, to the edifice that sat next door, and presently to the beautiful structure that we worship in today. The Emmanuel Church has stood through many tests, trials and temptations. Bishop Pollock’s favorite scripture was, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) We are witnesses we can do all things through Christ that strengthen us. In the early 1990’s our former pastor preached prophetically something was coming upon the church and if we were not anchored we wouldn’t be able to stand. Little did we know he was speaking of his illness? As Bishop Pollock began to realize the deterioration in his health he appointed our Pastor Bishop Rickie Jackson to serve in the capacity as Assistant Pastor. Bishop Jackson walked in our former Pastor’s footsteps long before this appointment which led to the fulfilling of God’s prophecy and the Emmanuel Church received new life. The sanctuary we now worship in was a dream of our Bishop Pollock.  Bishop Jackson caught hold of the vision and through much prayer, fasting, support and dedication today it is a reality. On Saturday, June 24, 2000, we marched into our new sanctuary and most of all our former pastor; Bishop Malon Pollock was able to attend and participate in our ribbon cutting ceremony. We know what God “can” do. Today the Emmanuel Church continues to flourish under the leadership and guidance of our pastor, Bishop Rickie Jackson. He stands firmly on the foundation laid by the Emmanuel Church. Bishop Jackson along with our First Lady, Teresa Jackson has the people of God and the work of the ministry at heart knowing it’s not about them, it’s all about Jesus. The Emmanuel Church is blessed to have a host of anointed Elders, Ministers, Deacons, Missionaries, Brothers and Youth. We are also blessed to have the Emmanuel Church, Swansea, pastured by our Presider, Bishop Roland Morris. Today, we are standing on the Word of God which is the solid foundation laid for us by our founding Pastor Bishop Pollock. Keep watching; keep praying, as we keep standing on this sure foundation.
